Dear patients,
For regular updates about immunization clinics and eligibility please see Halton - COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics. All of the vaccines currently available are safe and effective against COVID-19. Please book an appointment to get immunized at your earliest opportunity.
As of Tuesday April 20th, the Astra Zeneca COVID Immunization will be available to individuals 40 and older (including those turning 40 in 2021). Please follow the link below for available locations to book your vaccine. COVID-19 pharmacy vaccine locations (ontario.ca)
Listed below are the current eligibility criteria for the 6 other vaccination clinics in Halton which are offering the Pfizer and Moderna immunizations:
Individuals with highest-risk and high-risk health conditions (see conditions(external PDF) as identified by the Province) and one essential caregiver (note: you are no longer are required to complete an attestation form)
Highest-Risk Health Conditions: • Organ transplant recipients • Hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients • Neurological diseases in which respiratory function may be compromised (e.g., motor neuron disease, myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis) • Haematological malignancy diagnosed <1 year • Kidney disease eGFR< 30
High-Risk Health Conditions: • Obesity (BMI > 40) • Other treatments causing immunosuppression (e.g., chemotherapy, immunityweakening medications) • Intellectual or developmental disabilities (e.g., Down Syndrome)
Essential workers who cannot work from home (as identified by the Province)
Adults 50+ in an identified hot spot area (the L9E postal code area in Milton)
All health care workers who live or work in Halton and cannot work from home
Adults receiving chronic home care (through a Local Health Integration Network or home care agency)
Adults 60 years of age or older (born in or before 1961)
Indigenous Adults (including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit populations) who are 18 years of age or older as well as one immediate household family member who is 18 or older
Staff and designated essential caregivers who have not yet received a first dose in all long-term care homes or regulated retirement homes
Staff and residents of eligible congregate care settings and other vulnerable groups
Designated essential caregivers of a resident in eligible congregate care settings, assisted living facilities that are identified as: developmental services, mental health and addictions congregate settings, homes for special care, children’s residential facilities, and Indigenous healing and wellness facilities.
